Hydrostatic pressure testing is an important process that is used to test the integrity of gas cylinders. The purpose of the test is to ensure that the cylinder is able to safely contain the gas it is intended to hold at the required pressure

During the hydrostatic pressure testing process, the cylinder is filled with water and pressurized to a level that is typically 5/3 or 3/2 of its service pressure, depending on the country and regulatory requirements. The cylinder is then visually inspected for leaks or deformations. If the cylinder passes the visual inspection, it is then depressurized and dried before being returned to service
